"America's Next Top Vampire"
On tonight's episode of America's Next Top Model, the models must work it in their photo shoot to make a creepy character appear absolutely stunning.
On the way home from panel, Brenda reflects on being in the bottom two. Tyra told her that they are going to work on her hair so she can really get the edgy look they are going for.
In the limo ride the girls receive their next Tyra mail that reads, "When things don't go your way, sometimes you need to improvise." I think I see a comedy improv challenge coming on.
That night the girls meet up with Miss J. at a comedy club where they will watch an improv comedy show. Miss J. explains that they will need to pick up some of these improv skills for their next challenge.
Once the show gets started, it is actually the models who will be a performing in the show. Each girl has a chance to take the stage and is challenged to incorporate an action such as washing a car, with an emotion like frustration. The girls struggle with the challenge and get some laughs although some for the wrong reasons.
The next morning Sally Hershberger visits the house to re-cut Brenda's hair. Sally gives her an 80s punk look. Sally shaves the sides of Brenda's head and spikes the hair up at the top. Very edgy indeed.
That night the girls arrive at Times Square to a huge crowd of people. Heroes' star Dania Ramirez, the newest Covergirl spokesperson greets them and introduces their challenge. They will each have to improv 30 second commercial that will be broadcast live on the jumbotron in Times Square. But the catch is the girls have to perform body language to the voice over they hear without saying anything. The winner will be featured in an advertorial for Seventeen Magazine and on CoverGirl.com.
The girls are responsible for doing their own makeup and styling themselves. The girls learned a lot form their improv lesson and reacted well to the voice over, but they posed too much and didn't really have fun with. Tatianna really rocked it out and brought some personality and life to the commercial. Dania announces. It was her bubbly personality that Dania loved and she announced Tatianna as the winner.
Back at the house Alasia gets into it with Anslee. Anslee calmly tells Alasia that if she lets vegetables thaw out on the counter overnight they will spoil. Alasia thinks she is talking down to her and starts cursing her out. Anslee shakes it off at first until Alasia starts talking about how Anslee is a poor mother.... she shouldn't have gone there. Anslee looses it and screams her head off at Alasia. Krista finally has to come in and separate them.
The next morning the girls arrive at their photo shoot, where Jay Emanuel greets them dressed in head to toe leather, like Keanu Reaves in the Matrix. When he removes his sunglasses his eyes are made up to look bloodshot. He explains that the models will be vampires in the shoot and will wear white out contact lenses that will completely blind them. So they will have to rely on their knowledge of their body placement and "feel" the light.
And then another surprise... they will be posing in a blood-filled bathtub. The girls really worked it despite being as blind as bats. Brenda doesn't do as well with the black out lenses in her eyes, and starts to freak out. To make for her fear, she really connected to the male model on set. And she made it work for her.
Tatianna was almost too natural with the blood, because of all her as a volunteer mortician. At one point she even tasted the fake blood. Simone also had to prove herself this week because she was so flat last week. But even with the photographer's encouragement, she didn't give it her all.
The next day the models meet with the judges. The judges thought all the girls did well, but they really thought that Simone could have done more to push through the photo. The judges loved Alasia's shot; they thought it was sexy, intense and very modelesque. The judges loved Brenda's hair... and her intensity in her picture. The judges thought Anslee looked very confused and they don't like how she continues to make excuses for why she wasn't doing well in the competition.
The judges deliberate and call Alasia as best photo of the week for the second week in a row. Next Tyra calls Reina, Tatianna, Brenda, Alexandra, Angelea, Jessica and Krista. In the bottom two are Anslee and Simone. The judges love Anslee's bone structure but her photos don't have that special something. Simone has great potential but she doesn't push through in her photographs. In the end, Simone is sent home.
Until next week. Pose... strike it.
