During last night's controversial finale of ANTM All-Stars, Allison, the unique and quirky girl from Houston, TX, made it all the way to the final two in the competition before she was ultimately eliminated. Overall, the judges felt that Lisa was a better representation of what an All-Star should be, thus, Allison placed second for the second time on Top Model. We caught up with Allison to talk about how she feels about her time on the show, what it's like to have such a die-hard fan base, and what's coming up next for her!
Q. Mike, RealityWanted: During last night's episode, you said that you didn't want to be consistently a runner up, and that you felt you gave a lot more this time around [than on Cycle 12]. How do you feel about the outcome now?
A. Allison: Oh, I feel like that was a pretty hysterical comment considering what happened, I feel like I dug my own grave [laughs]. As much as I would have loved to have won, I don't feel it's fair to say that I hate the world. I was less vulnerable and less safe this time around, but I had a great experience. I got to go to Greece, and I made a lot of new friends.
Q. Mike, RealityWanted: Your eyes were a topic of discussion with the judges this cycle (as they've always been), because you're very sensitive to light. Has this light sensitivity hindered your modeling outside of ANTM? How do you get around it?
A. Allison: No, it hasn't hindered my modeling. I think it was sensationalized on the show. If you look at my body of work, and of course I've done work outside of Top Model, but between Cycles 12 & 14, there's maybe one or two photos where my eyes are closed, and the one that I was in the salad bowl, we were staring directly at the sun, and you're not supposed to do that anyway, just sayin'! [Laughs]
Q. Mike, RealityWanted: How was it shooting the Modelland editorial? Was it as crazy an experience as it looked? It looked pretty intense!
A. Allison: Yeah [Laughs], the scene where I have blood on my mouth, I am surprised that I'm still alive! I ate literally a tube of lip gloss [Laughs]. That was pretty funny. It was as crazy as it looked, and the work put into it shooting for two days straight, there was so much done that wasn't even seen. It was a lot of work but it was really fun.
Q. Mike, RealityWanted: I know that you probably can't discuss what happened with Angelea, so I won't ask you about that, but I do have a different question regarding her. Last night Angelea said that she'd underestimated you as competition throughout the cycle. Have you spoken to her about that since the show, and do you have a good relationship with her?
A. Allison: I'm obsessed with Angelea - she is so funny! The one thing I will say is a shame about the show, and I understand that it's only an hour and it can't be the Allison and Angelea show, but we had so much fun! Me and Angelea would laugh all the time, and she's so funny and we had so many goofy moments. She's such a good person.
Q. Mike, RealityWanted: At the elimination last night, Tyra said that you have die-hard fans, which is true because I'm definitely one of them! What is it like being recognized, and being such a big star with a lot of people? Is it hard to handle?
A. Allison: [Laughs]Aww, precious angel! Um, it's just really flattering, and it's really funny because I'm a really unorganized goofy person, and it's always gonna be crazy and overwhelming to me. I get really sweet emails and outpouring of support, and I'm really lucky and grateful for that. I wish I could say thank you to everyone!
Q. Mike, RealityWanted: Your branding word this cycle was "unique". Tell us what the word means to you, and how do you try to live up to your brand?
A. Allison: Unique is kind of - I feel like it's a really special word to get, but you have to be careful with it, because the more you say you're unique, you become not unique. It's a fragile word, but it's a special word. I just keep going about my business the same way I usually would, and I was very flattered to get it to begin with.
Q. Mike, RealityWanted: If you could have brought anyone back from Cycle 12 to compete with you, whom would you have brought back?
A. Allison: [Laughs] CELIA!! Or Courtney, I loved them both!
Q. Mike, RealityWanted: What was your favorite challenge, and your favorite photo shoot for the entire cycle?
A. Allison: Um....well for photo shoot, I want to replace it with filming the music video! As far as the product goes, I was really happy with it, and it was so much fun to make. They didn't show it, but we got to pick what we wore and our makeup and we really got to design ourselves, and that was really, really fun! That was probably the coolest part, because if you feel confident it makes things easier for you. Well, for the challenge...I always enjoyed the speaking challenges, and I really did enjoy where we got to write our own blog, even though mine got shot down.
Q. Mike, RealityWanted: What's coming up next for Allison?
A. Allison: Well, I am actually gonna try to get into some acting. I'm so busy and behind with commissioned paintings - I'm selling prints, and being commissioned to do portraits for people. I just finished wrapping a shoot; I work a lot with my boyfriend and we've been doing a lot of projects. I just feel really productive and I'm really wanting to be as busy as I can right now, because it's such a special time in my life. You'll hopefully be seeing a lot from me!
