We ended night one with some major drama and a huge cliffhanger on American Idol. Is Symone Black ok? What made her fall off the stage? Let's tune in to find out.
With medics around her, she comes to and they feed her a coke and then send her to the hospital with her dad to get checked out...way to dramatize it up Idol. Back to where we were last night and we see Jeremy Rosado move on, but Lauren Mink and Ethan Jones, the contestant now known for lying about his dad not being able to make it for his audition because he was in rehab, but now we know he was just at a funeral, were both sent home. After hearing all the singers, the judges cut it down to 185 singers left that will now be split up for the big drama sessions....group performances.
Group rules: must be 4 or 5-member groups, must be a mixture between Day 1 and Day 2 contestants. This messes with the contestants, because most formed groups when going through their day of singing...now they have to mix it up. Some find groups right away, while others struggle, including tent-gril Amy Brumfield, who is also very sick, and cop Alisha Bernhardt.
This group night stuff is way beyond what is needed for drama...just form a group, start dancing and singing and move on. Oh, and don't hurt yourself or pass out...the medics are appearing this season quite a lot...maybe they should grab a mic?
Alicia finally finds a group, so time to see all the groups fight through the night. Now stage parents, who both claim not to be stage parents, who both won't leave their kids alone...go home mom and dad! Symone returns and finds a group, to which her dad makes it awkward with a group hug...creeper.
Amy's sickness is spreading throughout the contestants, as we have singers throwing up in bags and people going back to rooms to rest and everyone is drinking water to stay hydrated. And we have drama between the cowboy and Heejun...cowboy wants to call the shots and Heejun doesn't want his friends making fun of him when they see him...who will win out?
Now time for the groups to fight over if they should stay up and practice or go get some sleep at 2:30 in the morning, which leads to crying and emotions running high. Can we just let them perform already FOX? I always think the ones who stay up late to practice end up the worst....right?
It is now morning and time for performances, but of course we will wait until next week for that.
American Idol airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8/7c on FOX.
