Hell's Kitchen Season 10

by Todd Betzold

We are down to eight chefs left on Hell's Kitchen, with four remaining on the Blue Team and four remaining on the Red Team. This is where it gets good, but we all know the drama flies high as we get closer to a winner being announced. What will happen tonight?

Kimmie comes back and is crying and upset that Tiffany was sent home and Barbie is still here. She vows to take control of the Red Team now, whether they like it or not. It is now time for the next challenge. It is all about southern cuisine tonight. After the gospel sings, they find out they will each be cooking up a southern dish.

Barbie goes first and chooses to go against Clemenza. They choose Catfish and Collard Greens. Brian chooses to go against Kimmie. They choose Pork Chop and Grits. Christina chooses Justin and they get Fried Chicken and Mac and Cheese. Last up are Dana and Robyn and they choose Meatloaf and Sweet Potatoes. They will each go head-to-head and have 30 minutes to create a classic Southern entrees and side.

Justin has never made fried chicken and Christina is not sure if she should leave the skin on or off the chicken (fried chicken without the skin)??? Brian has never made grits and is confused. Kimmie is the one to watch, as this is her specialty.

Time runs out and time to see what the chefs have come up with. To help him judge tonight, Chef Ramsay is joined by Food Critic Tanya Steel. Clemenza and Barbie are up first. For Barbie, Tanya said it is visually attractive and Chef Ramsay says good job. For Clemenza, Tanya said nice job on the greens, but the catfish could have been cooked a little more. That's one point for Barbie and the Red Team. Now it is time for Kimmie and Brian. For Kimmie, Chef Ramsay said it looked dull. Tanya said the grits are delicious and Chef Ramsay said it pops in your mouth. For Brian, they said it looks appetizing. The pork is undercooked, so they didn't even try it. One point for Kimmie and a 2-0 lead for the Red Team.

It is time for Christina and Justin. For Christina, they said the chicken is soggy. For Justin, Tanya said the mac and cheese is beautiful and one point for him. It is now 2-1 for the Red Team. Last up are Robyn and Dana. For Robyn, Tanya said the nutmeg is great in it, but she got a huge hit of salt. For Dana, Tanya said the puree is so incredibly good and Chef Ramsay said touch too much in it. The point goes to the Red Team and a 3-1 win for them. The winning dish was Dana and it will be featured on Epicurious.com.

For winning, the Red Team will participate in a photo shoot with Chef Ramsay and Tanya Steel. They then will be headed to lunch at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills. For losing, the men will be prepping both kitchens for dinner service. They start by churning butter by hand. Meanwhile, the Red Team gets glammed up for the photo shoot. Kimmie claims she is a tomboy and never wears makeup...she has natural beauty. Yeah, okay Kimmie. At their lunch, Dana was talking a little smack and Barbie was over it and started staring at her. Talk about a little awkward.

Dinner service is ready to start and Kimmie is feeling the pressure since she prides herself on this style of cooking. The patrons arrive and appetizers start going. Dana sends up crab cakes for the Red Team and Chef Ramsay sends them out. Red Team gets apps going out steadily. For the Blue Team, Justin on apps and Brian on fish try to get things going. Brian sends up bad oysters. His second time around, he gets them perfect. The Blue Team is sending out apps steadily now.

The Red Team has finished apps and now it is time for Kimmie and Christina to work on the entrees. Kimmie sends up burnt catfish and Chef Ramsay sends it back and she must start over. The Blue Team has moved on to entrees as well. Brian sends up burnt catfish as well. The teams are not doing well. Chef Ramsay makes him taste the fish and he asks what it tastes like and he said fish, which pisses off Chef Ramsay and he kicks him out. James talks to Brian and tells him Chef Ramsay wants a fighter, so Brian goes back in and talks his way back into the kitchen. However, the Blue Team has been stalled on entrees because of this.

Kimmie is now making her second attempt on the catfish. She says she burnt the side of her face, but she gets it up properly and entrees start going out for the Red Team. The Blue Team tries to send up entrees again and this time, Robyn sends up raw chicken. An hour into dinner service and the Blue Team is stalled on entrees again. Meanwhile, the Red Team is working together well, but Barbie screws up the garnish and they can't send out their second ticket again.

The Blue Team sends up their next attempt at entrees and Robyn sends up raw chicken again. Chef Ramsay is pissed and he kicks out the whole Blue Team. On the Red Team, they try again on the entrees. Kimmie sends up come raw catfish and then burnt catfish on the same plate. He is pissed tonight and he kicks the whole Red Team out. I guess the patrons aren't eating tonight!

Chef Scott goes up and gets the chefs to come back to the kitchen. Chef Ramsay stops them and said they will finish dinner service. They both need to nominate one person who could go home tonight. They go back and discuss. The Blue Team wants to send up Robyn, but she says that Brian got kicked out of the kitchen. The Red Team discusses and it is between Barbie and Kimmie. Christina and Barbie vote Kimmie. Kimmie votes Barbie, so it is up to Dana.

The chefs come back to Hell's Kitchen and announce their nominees. For the Red Team, their nominee is Kimmie because of the fish. For the Blue Team, their nominee is Robyn because of the raw chicken. They come up and defend themselves. Chef Ramsay said it is the hardest decision he has made yet. He tells Robyn to get back in line and Kimmie is headed home! I am shocked at that one, but he said she is not ready to be his head chef.
