"When opportunity knocks, most of us are out in the backyard looking for four-leaved clovers." We could easily spend all our lives wishing on that shooting star, or be out there knocking (or breaking down!) every door in reach. Good luck isn't held in your lucky penny - it's in your ability to see an opportunity, and grab it! Voted.

"Optimism: the cheerful frame of mind that allows that enables a tea kettle to sing, though in hot water up to its nose." Something to consider for this Wednesday. Have a happy and blessed day! Voted.

At some point, I need to find the black hole hiding in my perfectly ordered house. No matter how neat my house is, tidy, clean, organized, and everything in its place, things dsisappear in this house, never to been seen again. The recent casualties include the ribbon, name tags, and Christmas cards I bought to wrap Christmas presents. The theory is, these would have been in the same box as the rest of the ribbon and wrapping paper, in the box on the second shelf in my hall closet, labeled "Gift Wrapping." I still have not found these. Next, was my notebook with the contact information for my martial arts students. Theoretically, in the drawer the rest of my contacts. Gone. And, most recently, a box labeled jewelry, helpfully disposing of the bezels I bought for the pendulums I was making. The possibilities: One: my cats ate these things. Two: there's a magical vortex in my house, sucking things into the void, never to be seen again. Okay. Score one more for "unsolved mysteries!" Have a good one! Voted!

In this world of ours / what is there of constancy? Yesterday's deep pool in the River of Tomorrow, today becomes a rapid. ~ Kokinushu. Even a psychic can't truly predict what lies ahead. Take one day at a time, embrace the unexpected, the surprises, and the adventures, and you never know where the path may lead you. Have a great day. Voted!

Most of you guys have heard me talk about my three cats. My Himalayan is the biggest character. Among her...unique skills is randomly banging into walls. She runs into walls, and falls down the stairs. My first thought was to take her to the vet. After a series of tests, the vet found nothing wrong with her eyesight, inner ear, and no signs of a brain defect. Baffled, the vet sent us home. Later in my relationship with Persephone, I met my mentor in psychic arts. Among her talents is pet whispering. I asked her during one visit if she could tell what was wrong with Persephone. My mentor looked thoughtfully at the cat, and finally said, "She's telling me...she doesn't know how to stop." To this day, I don't know if that was serious, or a joke. But, it remains the best diagnosis I've gotten! Have a great day! Votes are in!

It is finally raining here so now the huge melt begins. At least I don't live in a flood zone! I named the 10 foot snowman that the neighbors made in front of my apartment Fred. Don't know why,it just popped out..."morning Fred, you a little cold?" then I laughed at myself for talking to snow! voted :)

Scatter at random / O blossoms of the cherry / And cloud the heavens, that you may conceal the path old age is said to follow. ~ Ariwara no Narihira. I'm currently reading an anthology of translated Japanese poetry, and thought I'd share a couple I particularly liked. This one reminds me that we're all here to enjoy life. To never forget the lifetimes ahead, but to live each day one at a time, as a unique celebration that will never be exactly repeated. Just something to think about on this uniquely beautiful day. I hope yours is beautiful as well. Votes are in.
