At the beginning of the world's hottest month, the heat apparently invaded the All-Stars house this week, resulting in more interesting and All-Star worth interactions. Will Boogie or Erika be able to save themselves with the power of veto? How well is the Sov 4 alliance really doing? What occurred with your favorite all-star since Sunday's show? Find out all the must-know details right here.
Of course the show began with the usual black and white recaps and reactions to nominations. Erika's DR comments clearly reflected that the nomination worried her whether she was a pawn or not, because "Everyone knows what happens to the pawn....They're on the couch next to Julie at the end of the week." Janelle reassured Erika that she would be protected, but Erika took little solace in her words. Janelle expressed some uncertainty in her nominations, but felt she did the best thing for her and her alliance with the nominations, though she confessed in the DR that right now, she had to look out more for herself. Mike on the other hand responded by planning to win veto, and of course, bringing his Chill Town partner Dr. Will into the loop to in act strategy and to work on influencing Janelle to put up a floater as she had previously promised their alliance.
The ultimate plan of Chill Town remains to convince the S6 to rid themselves of floaters as they promised to do the same if they break their no HOH record and take the power control themselves. Will held a couple of meetings in the HOH bedroom with Janelle. At first, she admitted she wanted to save Boogie at the veto competition and put up a floater to complete their deal, but she didn't want anyone in the house knowing that she and Will, thus Chill Town, were at least for the week working somewhat together. After Will learns of the plan, he asked Janelle to discuss it directly with Mike Boogie, which she did. The conversation ended with Mike giving Janelle a high-five after the three have agreed that if Boogie is taken off due to the veto competition that Chill Town will vote with the Sov to rid the house of the floater she plans to target. Janelle's target continued to be Diane, whom she had considered previously for nomination due to feeling overwhelming threatened.
At first when the Sov 4 met after nominations, while James and Howie expressed some doubts, they remained loyal to Janelle and her nominations. Due to well-edited expressions; however, clearly dissention and worry for the alliance started after hearing the news, leaving the other members of the Sov alliance at various levels of concern. The floaters, also concerned, discussed their fears that they would continue to be nominated until they were all gone and only S6 and Chill Town would remain. They feel as though they have only themselves and each other to rely on at this point, apparently not totally aware of the apparent strength of the allegiance between Marcellas and Janelle. Interestingly, it was Marcellas himself that led the conversation with the Diane, Danielle, and Erika.
Nighttime arrived, and Janelle called the houseguests in to pick the competitors for the veto competition. With the bag of veto balls in hand, Janelle picked Howie, Boogie picked Will, and Erika picked Diane. At this point, the houseguests were told about the America's Choice intervals but not told at what intervals the wake-up messages would be played. She also informed the competitors that it would be only they in the backyard and that all competitors, when called, must make it to the backyard within one minute for the competition or be unable to play. Of course America voted to play the wake-up calls every 15 minutes, and the houseguests mostly became thoroughly annoyed, though most remained good sports. No one really slept, but all players did make it to the backyard in time once the competition was called.
In the backyard, the players found what looked to be old style wooden chairs which looked somewhat like "electric chairs" and were advised to take their shoes off. Howie, who also hosted the competition, revealed a box of worms, a bucket of ice, headphones which blasted wake-up calls into the recipient's ears, and blindfolds. The challenge consisted of words or phrases spelled backwards. The first person to guess three of the phrases correctly would be the winner, but also after getting a word or phrase correct, the player could hinder another by putting on any of these diversionary devices onto another player of their choosing. Chill Town, believing that actions speak more loudly than words in the Big Brother house, watched Janelle's moves very carefully. Just as she promised, every time she had the opportunity, her penalties went to Diane rather than to Chill Town, thus reassuring them she could be trusted at least for the week. When Dr. Will, who admitted he actually tried in this particular competition, went out early by guessing only a partial phrase, leaving Boogie to win veto himself, which he did. After the veto competition, he kicked a pair of goggles that were glass rather than plastic as he had assumed, resulting in his receiving ten stitches on his foot.
Included in this week was a luxury competition for viewing of the upcoming movie, "Talladega Nights". The groups, divided into two teams, jumped into a spinning NASCAR, jumped out when it stopped spinning, and completed pit crew jobs. Those with the shortest time won the competition and got to go to a screening of the movie and even eat the candy, etc. provided were they on slop. Great excitement for the houseguests but not plot pivotal to the audience.
After the competition, all of the other Sov members along with Marcellas pled with Janelle to nominate Will in Boogie's place, thus insuring his eviction. No one understood why Janelle remained reluctant to do this. Her whole demeanor during the show was portrayed accurately as confused and unsure, a side of Janelle not normally characteristic. She felt confused between what was best for herself and best for her alliance. She stuck to her guns, for better or worse, and nominated Diane after Mike Boogie used the veto on himself.
The most important thing in the episode indisputably was James' total dissention from Janelle and the Sov if necessary. He went to Diane, after calling out Janelle in her "lie" that she would go after Chill Town this week, and said, "Its awn! The war begins tomorrow." He clearly stated to the Sov that next week he will do what's best for him and that she has proved to be an untrustworthy alliance member and a liar. In the heat of another perceived betrayal, as could be called, James now became the first to officially remove him from the alliance, esp. in regards to Janelle. He promised himself and Dani that he was going to backdoor Janelle next week and get her out of the house should he win HOH.
Will Erika or Diane be evicted? Now that the Sov alliance openly imploded, how will the other alliance members react? Will the relationships be rebuilt, or is the game finally starting to get heated and interesting for those not so invested in a particular player or alliance?
