Last time on the Celebrity Apprentice, it was a musical showdown between the teams. Each team had to create three radio commercials for different branches of a home service company. Tenacity fell apart under the leadership of Summer and had to go to the boardroom, where Cyndi was put under the microscope yet again by her team. However, it was Summer's lack of leadership that sealed her fate and sent her packing.
Step one for this week: switch up the teams. Thanks to Donald, Curtis and Bret flipped teams, making it Sharon, Maria and Curtis versus Cyndi, Holly and Bret. Of course Holly and Cyndi are still together--Cyndi called Holly a "beeyotch." It's almost too good for TV! Second step: the task. This week, teams are refurbishing apartment for very rich visiting executives. Of course, Donald Jr. can't even get the company's name right, so I don't know how many of Trump's friends are going to be staying there in the near future.
Holly steps up for her team while Sharon takes the reigns for her, Maria and Curtis. Cyndi gets the assignment of the celebrity room from Holly, while Holly figures she and Bret can manage the rest. Bret realizes what a cluster he's gotten himself into between these two women and tries his best to be diplomatic. I emphasize the word tries for a reason.
Sharon and Maria get into it over the furniture they want to buy and the colors they want to use for painting. Again, Curtis is left to manage the two while Maria is sad Sharon doesn't like her anymore.
Bret is left to shoot pictures while Holly and Cyndi shop. Cyndi has a more unusual taste that Holly is trying desperately to curb, but Cyndi isn't having any of it. To make matters worse, Bret has to leave for a previous engagement, leaving the two of them alone. Sure, they get along for a while, but then the claws start to come out again.
Sharon finds out from the props guy about Holly's Balinese theme, and she thinks her modern decor has it in the back for their team. Curtis and Sharon start working their connections and start raking in the donations, from a bunch of random art to a $40,000 lamp (I didn't even know those existed).
Back to Cyndi, who paints her room bright red. Seriously, lipstick red on every facet of the room. Bret's pictures turn out to be a fail for the team because they're very small, and Cyndi starts to snap on all their employees.
Curtis and Sharon start placing the furniture and they realize they have way too much. Jeez, life must suck when you have the power to get people to donate more furniture than a room needs, you know? On top of that, Sharon starts to worry about the colors.
When the execs take a walkthrough, the celebrity room clearly goes to Holly's team, but Sharon's team wins in the rest of the apartment. Even though the VIP part is extremely important, they thought Holly's apartment looked cheap and cluttered, giving Sharon's team the victory and, better yet, sending Holly and Cyndi to the boardroom for yet another round.
In the boardroom, Holly and Cyndi absolutely go at it. It's backhanded comment after backhanded comment until Trump turns the spotlight on Bret, who doesn't want to say anything. Slowly, he starts to turn on Cyndi, but he doesn't really say directly that he would fire her.
Meanwhile, Cyndi and Holly are hitting insults back and forth and Cyndi is letting the f-bombs fly. It gets to the point where Trump has to have them all leave so he can discuss. At this point, I'm hoping they fire Bret for being a boring fence-sitter.
Trump, however, has different plans. He makes it clear Holly wants Cyndi out and clear that Cyndi wants Holly gone (again, with more expletives), so he pressures Bret until he cracks and turns on Cyndi. With that, Trump has no choice and he fires Cyndi, letting the last interesting person (and all of NBC's ratings) walk out the door.
Tune in next week to The Celebrity Apprentice to see which three stars fall by the wayside and who makes it to the final project--only on NBC on Sunday at 9/8c!
