Rose Island Lighthouse – Newport, Rhode Island

The Rose Island Lighthouse, built in the 1860's, is just one piece of the paranormal puzzle of the island.  The island served as a Navy Torpedo Station in WW I and WW II so there is also paranormal activity in the old Barracks building.  These same barracks were used to quarantine disease victims from New York after the wars. The lighthouse "Keepers" house appears to have the most activity with doors closing, voices being heard, and one photo taken by the caretakers showing a ghostly image of a former keeper of the lighthouse.  Strange noises are heard in the lighthouse itself.

TAPs co-founders Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson started their investigation in the Keeper's Quarters, which now serves as a vacation rental.  While in one of the bedrooms, their K2 meter was registering high energy spikes.  Not long after this a voice, heard by all, seemed to say "ma ma."  This was followed by what sounded like someone running upstairs or down the hall.  While Jason and Grant were back at their control center they saw a white mass appear at one end of the building and it certainly looked human but no team member was around.  They headed out to the area but were not able to retrieve any additional paranormal activity.

Amy Bruni and Kris Williams headed to the top of the lighthouse.  They heard some murmuring coming from the outside and made their way out to the balcony of the lighthouse.   The murmuring couldn't be traced to anything and they hoped something was caught on their audio recorder.

K.J. McCormick and Britt Griffith tried to debunk the doors opening and closing in the keepers house, trying to make sure drafts from the outside were not responsible.  While they were looking at one door, another door opened by itself.  This is the second row in a row where doors where opening on these guys.  They found no general instability with the door that would cause it to open by itself.

The team was pretty blown away the activity they experienced and caught on their equipment and definitely felt the island was haunted.

National Baseball Hall of Fame - Cooperstown, New York

Artifacts going back to the 1700's could be one of the many reasons the caretakers and visitors continue to hear voices in the Baseball Hall of Fame, which was built in 1939.  Cooperstown has a reputation for haunted hotels but I was not aware of the Hall of Fame also having paranormal activity.  Now frozen for the future by his children in a metal caldron, former baseball great Ted Williams is said to have been seen in the hall and the voices may be attribute to him.  The ghost of former Major League baseball player Barry Bonds is said to continue to knock on the hall doors, trying to get in.   Okay, I made that up.  Barry Bonds is not dead, but he is trying to get into the hall of fame none the less.

K.J. McCormick and Britt Griffith were the first to investigate the Hall and while they were trying to conjure up a conversation with Ted Williams, they saw some shadow appear at the end of the hall.  They ran down to see if they could catch something or someone, but nothing was around.  They headed to the "Plaque" room, which contains the faces and stories of every member of the hall.  Voices have been heard in this room and K.J. and Britt where not only hearing some voices but also possibly seeing some shadow movement.

Amy Bruni and Kris Williams were the next to walk the hall and spent time trying to re-create a noise they heard.  They tracked it down to the door of the men's room.  Men ghosts have to use the bathroom too I guess.

The team did uncover a few EVP's but nothing that was really audible, one was a sound that seemed like it was coming from a woman and another a male voice.  It didn't seem like TAPS had much of a "paranormal" night at the hall.  They did believe that maybe just the energy being captured by the artifacts from the past 300 years could be holding the souls of the past.
