Last night on Celebrity Apprentice, it was the tensest episode yet as the epic battle of NeNe Leakes and Star Jones reached new heights (so much, in fact, that NeNe Leakes became a top 10 trending topic on Twitter during the East Coast airing of the show).
If I could, I would transcribe a complete back-and-forth between the two divas from the entire episode. Instead, I'll try to include a few select quotes here and there and heavily suggest that you watch this for yourself.
First, to where it all began: the task. The teams would be working with CHI hair products to produce a live hair show. You'd think that with all the creative elements that are needed to go into something like this, Star would be the first one to jump on the lead for ASAP. But, instead, she suggested NeNe take the reins. And that set NeNe off.
"I know how you think," NeNe yelled with a pointed finger. "I know how you play the game!"
Oh snap. But it got worse, eventually stooping to the level of lobbying insults like "evil fat lady" and "your brain is very fat." NeNe was not happy, and she was going to make sure that Star Jones knew it. It became a slew of curse words as NeNe, for lack of a better word, loses it on Star, trying to break her before the task even begins.
Star's response? "I don't do threats," the former "The View" co-host said. Ouch, cold. Did I mention all of this is happening in front of the executive who is judging them?
But that wasn't all. At Trump's office, LaToya Jackson comes in to rebuke her firing just one week ago. According to her, it was unjustified and that she added a lot to the show. Trump says he's never done it before, but he was willing to think about it.
Cut back to the task, where the men are very, very confident that they have it in the bag. They're running on time, they haven't had any problems with logistics and they scored Niki Taylor, the model who was fired week 3 from ASAP. From Niki, they got three other popular New York City models to help them with the hair show.
Meanwhile, ASAP had dancers…and a whole lot of conflict. Star was the director of the show and got pushed around by the stylists during rehearsal, which brought a smile to NeNe's face. At first, she was incredibly concerned about pulling off their show, but then she, too, was confident that they could pull it off.
The women's show centered around energy and feeling fun, titling it "Shake Your Beauty." NeNe was on point, it seemed like the show was fun, but then Hope came out at the end and awkwardly posed with two bottle of hairspray. No one seemed to know what she was doing out there--even her.
The men, on the other hand, had a hyped up, energetic show that was clearly beyond whatever the women could offer. They had people coming out the entire time, Lil Jon did a little rapping and he kept bringing people up on stage. A hair show sure doesn't sound fun to me, but that looked interesting, at least.
And so it came as no surprise when the men won. But it was a surprise when we found out the men would be getting a fourth team member: LaToya Jackson. Star and NeNe looked equally pissed, especially when they found out that they lost.
When it came down to it, NeNe thought Hope was the most expendable. Hope and Star said NeNe and Marlee flipped between the two, very hesitantly. As expected, Marlee was sent back to the suite, and Star, NeNe and Hope went at it.
But Hope didn't go for it hard enough, showing Trump that NeNe was right: Hope was really the weakest member of the team. It was hard for him to do, but he tossed Hope out the door, leaving Star and NeNe to have a really awkward walk back to the suite.
The Celebrity Apprentice airs Sundays on NBC at 9/8c.
