Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 4

By Mike Bandy

We've finally made it to the reunion, and it promises to be a juicy one! Last night was part 1 of a three-part RHOA reunion extravaganza, and the ladies didn't waste any time going in on each other!

Introductions aside (why did Phaedra have on those big, Legend of Zelda earrings?), the reunion began with a montage of the ladies talking about the labels they wore all season, and mispronouncing "Louboutin" about 9,000 times. Cynthia, who, it should be pointed out, has been in the fashion industry since the dawn of time, said that Atlanta is more focused on labels than anywhere else - in New York, you just wear the labels and move on.

I'll say this for Cynthia - she dresses for her environment. When Andy Cohen pointed out that she was the only one who "dressed African" in Africa, he was right on the money.

Next, we moved on to Kandi's ultra-successful sex toy line, Bedroom Kandi, and relived the season-long development of it. She's made quite a bit of money with it - in fact they have a partnership with the Hard Rock Hotel by which the staff DELIVERS TOYS TO GUESTS' ROOMS. Oh, hell no. I'm no prude, but I wouldn't want the hotel staff to know that I've got sex toys in my room, much less having them BRING them to me! To each their own, I guess.

The first argument of the reunion then kicked off between NeNe and Kandi, where NeNE said that she's very much over the sex toy conversation, she believes that growth is a great thing, and she'd rather do something productive than "sit around with a bunch of 40-year-old women" gossiping. Kandi told her that she is judgmental, and how can she be, when she used to be a stripper? NeNe shot back, "I don't care if I stripped when I was 20, 30 or 40, I don't want a dildo up my a** today!" Classy.

A viewer asked whether or not Kandi was in a relationship, and it was revealed that she's dating a production manager of the show, and they're close to moving in together. Awesome - Kandi deserves to be happy with someone, and I hope it works out!

Then the conversation turned to Kim, who has had a fairytale year with giving birth to her son, moving into her dream home, and marrying Kroy. Kim then announced that she was 4 months pregnant, and NeNe and Cynthia offered their passive-aggressive congratulations. A viewer asked why Kim couldn't raise her kids without a nanny, and Kim said that that's how she chooses to spend her money, which she and Kroy are smart about (even though they just bought a boat unnecessarily).

In perhaps the biggest shock of the evening, Kim announced that when there are no cameras around, she doesn't wear her wig! Think we'll ever see her without it on?!

The next argument of the evening began when Sheree talked about how Bob still isn't paying child support. She was emotional and teared up when she talked about how hard it was, and Phaedra placed a gentle hand on her back to comfort her...until Sheree turned to her and said that she didn't know what she was doing in court, that is. Phaedra and Sheree went back and forth, with Sheree saying that Phaedra dropped the ball and didn't take her case seriously, and Phaedra saying that she did exactly what she was supposed to do, and though Sheree has new representation, her case is in exactly the same place it was when Phaedra had control of it. She then told Sheree that she'll let her "wear the crown, because you're the queen of throwing everybody under the bus". Ouch.

Then, Sheree and NeNe got into it because NeNe Tweeted something about Sheree's unfinished house being "Neverland" and in fact, Chateau Sheree still hasn't been built. The question was raised as to how Sheree affords new cars and a $10,000 bag, and Sheree kind of sidestepped it.

Next, we talked about NeNe and how she's "very rich, bitch". We relived her whole ridiculous season and watched her fight with Sheree, accept gifts from her "business partner" John, and say goodbye to the haters. Sheree and NeNe got into it again because Sheree said that NeNe only made $25,000 from being on Celebrity Apprentice, and NeNe said that she works and is therefore rich. Sheree said, "My children aren't stealing from Wal-Mart!" and then things really hit the fan!

NeNe told Sheree not to go there with her kids, that she raised Bryson the right way and he still made a mistake, but he's an adult and that's not her fault. Then Kim chimed in and said that NeNe talks about her kids all the time, saying that they're all from different fathers and basically calling NeNe out as a hypocrite.

Next, a viewer asked Kandi why she felt it necessary to report to the other ladies about what NeNe and Cynthia said in Miami, and Kandi said she was just making a joke. NeNe felt that Kandi was trying to take a shot at her, but that's okay, because she's going to take her shots too. Kim chimed in again and said that Kandi has more money than all of them, but never talks about how rich she is.
Part 1 came to a close with a question from a viewer about whether the ladies thought NeNe had changed for the better or for worse.

Cynthia, naturally, said NeNe had changed for the better, and Phaedra said she wouldn't know because there's been a division. NeNe said that she doesn't care what the other ladies do, but Kim spoke up once again and said that NeNe is always talking about how Kim rents her house, but NeNe rents her house. NeNe said that she'll say whatever she wants to say...and did we expect anything less?

Part 2 of the reunion is coming up on Thursday, and with the idea of NeNe and Peter flirting with each other, Cynthia's comment about Kim in Africa, and Marlo calling Kim the "w" word, it promises to set the women's movement back about a hundred years. Can't wait!
