Naked and Afraid: Strength in Pain

Bree is from Denver and works in real estate. Her father taught her primitive skills and she wants to prove to him that she's strong and confident. Her PSR is 6.9 and her confidence naked is a perfect 10. She says the hardest thing she's had to do in life is get sober. Wonder if she'll still be saying that at the end of this 21 days?

Her partner, Clarence, is from Maryland has been homeless for 10 years. He teaches survival skills so when he's not sleeping where he works he couch hops. He has a PSR of 7.2 and a plethora of one liners to satisfy the bored.

The pair are in the mountainous and tropical area of Honduras. It has sweltering heat, high humidity, jaguars, violent seasonal thunderstorms and poisonous snakes including the long-fanged eyelash viper.

From their first meeting they seem eerily on the same page... the same paragraph even. During their trek to camp they get caught in the rain so their first priority is shelter. However, they don't get a great one in time and Bree isn't satisfies sleeping on the ground due to her fear of snakes. TH next day she builds a platform instead but Clarence doesn't stay long. He decides that he would rather be in a ground shelter more conducive to keeping in heat from the fire.

Their first meal is tarantula aka "fuzzy little lobster". Their second meal is an eyelash viper scarily close to camp. Hence Bree's above ground shelter. Speaking of... Clarence gets very sick and puts Bree in charge of his fire. While she is telling the cameras the pressure of tending to the fire Clarence deems so precious, his entire shelter goes up in flames. Sadly, he claims that this is proof that he can't count on anyone. Lucky enough they have that second home, but Clarence refuses to do things as a partner. Now it's like their same page is no more and it's more like they're in separate libraries.

Although Bree is disappointed that her partner is putting in more of a team effort, she is willing to make him a bark tea that will help his bad stomach. So much for not counting on others, eh, Clarence? To return the favor he helps her make her own ground shelter, even facing them towards each other so they can have conversations. Yay team! Except for that whole reason she wanted off the ground in the first place. Hello little snake in Bree's bed. Once again, thank goodness for the second home. Except no. Bree takes it as her defining moment and decides to tap out. Clarence is totes fine with it. "I am a one wolf wolfpack."

It's really disappointing seeing Bree tap out because she seemed to have good skills and plenty of energy left. But as Clarence says, "tough times don't last, tough people do".

By day 16 Clarence is past the hunger stage, having not eaten since day 3. He's also starting to act erratically due to his isolation. Yet he makes it to extraction day. As he treks through the wilderness to a waterfall, he comes to a dead end. His only way down is to jump into the pool below. Once through the river he finally gets to the bridge extraction point. Over the 21 days Clarence lost 40 pounds and his PSR rose to 7.9.

Bree's PSR dropped to 4.8.
