Besides Boston Rob, there were no three competitors on Survivor this season as physically intimidating as Mike, Matt, and Grant. Yet, at Redemption Island on the season finale, Andrea beat all three and sent them to the jury. This past Sunday, on the finale of Survivor: Redemption Island, Andrea defeated powerhouses Grant, Matt, and Mike to return to the game, only to be voted back out again by her Ometepe tribemates. After that, Rob convinced Natalie to turn on Ashley, her close friend, so that he could eliminate the biggest threat to beat him in the game. On Sunday's Survivor: Redemption Island finale, Rob Mariano finally took home the grand prize, after playing the game 4 times over a period of 10 years. He defeated special agent Phillip Sheppard and good girl Natalie Tenerelli. On the red carpet in New York City, RealityWanted's Michael Lamp caught up with the final three right after the live reunion show to get their thoughts on this season of Survivor.

Here we are. More than a decade of torch-snuffing, backstabbing and million-dollar winners brings us to yet another Survivor season finale.
This time, I'm lucky enough to have an (almost) front row seat to the action. I'm sitting in NYC's famous Ed Sullivan Theater along with other members of the press, Survivor fans from far and wide and plenty of supportive family members of this year's cast.

Tonight's Survivor finale kicks off with Grant's arrival at Redemption Island. He's not sure who betrayed him (can't imagine why) and Andrea isn't thrilled to see him at all. Who would be?! The guy has been a beast all season long. Matt seems to have fallen in love with Redemption Island and considers it home now, which is a far cry from the breakdown he was having a week or two ago.

This edition of SURVIVOR will feature a new twist when, for the first
time, castaways who have been eliminated from the game will have an
opportunity to seek redemption and return for a chance to win the
million dollar prize. Each week at Tribal Council when a castaway is
voted off, they will be sent to an isolated island called "Redemption
Island," where they will live alone in exile. To stay on Redemption
Island, they will need to compete in a duel against the next person
eliminated at Tribal Council and sent to the Island. The winner of each
duel earns the right to continue fighting for an opportunity to return
to the game and the chance to compete for the title of Sole Survivor;
the loser is sent home.
The battle unfolds in Nicaragua where the 18 castaways will be divided into two Tribes of nine: the Ometepe Tribe and the Zapatera Tribe. The tribes are comprised of individuals from all different backgrounds with the same ultimate goal: to be the Sole Survivor. While 16 of the contestants are new to the competition, two are former castaways who will be given another chance to compete for the million dollar prize and one last shot at redemption.
